I'm looking for a reliable printer for low volume, but high image quality output of 8X10 or thereabouts from a Canon 30D camera. Does a Canon printer offer an advantage in IQ with Canon camera files? i'm somewhat concerned about ink and inkjet dryup from periods of low productivity. Cost is a factor since I must com[pare cost of output from a printer to what I'd have to pay at a lab. I have a friend who has an Epson R300 that's doing a good job, but the model is discontinued.

Hi; although the r300 is discontinued the range has been increased, if you check the Epson website for photo/cd printers you will find quite a few models that use the same print-head and cartridge's as the r300.

I am using the r220 (just discontinued but still available from Asda, PCworld etc for around £60) and I am highly delighted with the results.
