Default Canon i950 warning ink running low

Question: Once my i950 warns me that ink is running low, how many more pages (8x10) can I continue to print and still get proper color???

Dan

I would not go beyond two pages and three at the most.

One thing to note, unless Canon has changed this since my S800, is should you run out of ink in the middle of a print job, the printer will stop where it is at. If you have a replacement tank on hand, just swap it out and it will keep going. The low ink notification comes on once the primary resevoir is empty, but there is still a lot of ink left in the foam side.

I have gotten at least 10 4x6 prints after recieving the notification when using the default print setting in Easy Photo Print. You can stretch the ink farther by turning the printer off and not using it for a couple of days. This allows the ink to settle down to the bottom of the foam.

I just went through that on my new i950 with two cartridges for the first time. On each one, after the low ink warning, I printed three more (maybe 4) 8.5X11's, then on the 4th (or 5th) as it was 1/2 printed I got a window saying it was OUT of ink and to change it after this page was printed to prevent print head damage or words to that effect. It's such a wonderful printer, for my use, I'm perfectly happy to go with Canon cartridges and not argue with success.
