I have just moved from the US to Brunei and am stuck with printers with 110Volt power supplies (still drives me mad that manufacturers cannot use switching power supplies, however thats another story). I contacted Canon in Singapore to see if I could buy a new power supply (a 'spare part') for the 4200 & 4000R, but they gave me some feeble story about the logic board having to be changed as well. This I find strange, or complete rubbish to be honest. Certainly for the ip4000, the power supply is simply a brick that drops out and provides the DC voltage to the printer. I cannot recall if the 4200 is the same design or not.

Does anyone know how I can go about getting a 220/240Volt power supply in this region so I don't have to use some nasty stepdown transformer for these printers (I'd rather not - besides, I seem to recall from somewhere that the power supplies from Canon were very reasonable in price - can't find the thread )

thanks in advance,
Richard
