I have the cnaon MP600 but thats an All-in 1. Its works great but the photos are just plain . I have an Ip6700d that works better for photo's. Got them BOTH from Amazon for $240- Graet deal. I'm only a beginner and going to work my way up the ladder of photo printers . The 600 was bought mostly for scanning -copying etc. and it does those fine---Chris

It's a solid photoprinter but it always wise to test it yourself at a store before buying. I would say that it will easily surpass the CX3810 in photo quality but I have a few tips for proper use.

1. Use the rear feeder for photopaper since it does not need to make the u-turn inside the printer.

2. Use the proper paper, the mp600 should include a 5 pack of 4x6 Glossy Plus PhotoPaper.

3. Make sure to use high megapixel pictures such as 4 megapixel or better.

Of course it can do 8.5 x 11 prints, I recommend you look over the specs at Canon:

Regarding the lines on your photos from your CX3810, have you run the head cleaning utility? This should clear those lines from the photos.
