The only way I can see at the moment is to download the service program and/or manual from 2manuals.com -- they'll cost you about $10 each.

Cheaper than replacing the printer, I suppose...

If I find a free download anywhere that works I'll let you know.

There is a copy of the service program floating around on the 'net — unfortunately it's in a password protected .rar file, the password isn't with it and no-one seems to know where it came from.

If anyone has access to a supercomputer...

http://www.2manuals.com/index.php?cPath=56

Please note I have no idea if it's genuine or not — reports on the authenticity of stuff from this (Russian) source vary.

I was unable to reach the pads since i had to make a real sergury in my R300. I did the tank mode but i couldnt reset the printer with the 3 button trick and still i got the error message. I managed to download the new Epson's sscserve.exe but i suceed nothing.

Should I send it for service? any help for reaching the pads?

Paliakos: Sorry, I didn't see your post 'til just now.

Try the three-button trick by turning the printer off first (even pull the power cord or turn off at the wall), leave it for a while, plug it in again, then press the 3 buttons while the printer is turned off.

Might work.

There have also been reports of the SSC utility needing to be run several times before the reset 'takes'. (make sure you're using the correct part of the utility, as well — access it from the taskbar via right-click and choose 'protection counter'.)

Also, unless you already have an ink flood, there's no real need to remove the pads — just do the waste tank mod.

If no more ink gets on the pads they won't get any wetter than they are now.

I think it's Power, Stop, Setup (but I may be wrong — it's just from something I read recently and have forgotten where to find it.)
