Hello. I've read all the infos about resetting the waste ink counter on 200/210/300/310 models (either with the SSC utility or by pressing a key combination on the printer).
However, I cannot find any reference to the R340. Can anyone confirm that this printer can be reset? If yes, what method does work? I'm using a Mac, so for the SSC I'd have to first find a PC to do a reset.
Many thanks,
Gordon.

I read somewhere recently that pressing the Power, Stop, Setup buttons did the same as the Power, Stop, Maintenance sequence on the R300/310.

You'd probably need to hold them down for the same period as for the earlier series and you might need to do it from the power-down state.

I've no way to confirm this, though.

If it works, do please let us know.

I just tried this sequence--in a couple of variants; had no success.

The only other suggestion I can make is to look here:

http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=200091319647

Still better than paying a service depot.

I just ordered it...

I'll get back to the group once I receive something or figure it out!

Or... http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...highlight=r340

where you can download the manual without spending 8$

That was only the manual — gets you nowhere without the adjustment program, which he didn't put in the zip file.

The address is a file storage/download facility and I don't think it's held there any more.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon to see if it worked out with the Printer Fix utility you ordered.
Keep us updated.

Thanks for all the answers so far.
Gordon.

Thanks Idle for the heads up!

Boy was I in panic mode earlier today when I tried using the SSC utility with my R340! It's too bad the model isn't supported..

But nevertheless, I ordered the same program from that eBay seller you mentioned, and voila! It worked like a charm. :G

Here it is so ya'll don't have to pay $8 like I did..

[Don't worry, the program was free to begin with -- that eBay seller says so on his site]

Enjoy!

Exellent! Thanx a lot. As soon as I get hold of a PC I'll give it a try.

Hey Folks.. just in case that "mediafire" link doesn't work..

I re-uploaded the zip via the trusty "sendspace" service.

Here ya go.
