First post on here so I hope someone will be able to help....

Had a new Canon Pixma MP810 for a few weeks now but whenever I print a 6x4 photo the black colour seems very weak. Its more of a noisy dark blue than black in some cases.

Given the MP810 has its own black photo ink cartridge I was hoping the quality of black would be a little stronger.

Is there anything I can check/tweak to try and get a purer black colour?

Thanks all

Keith

Keith

What ink cartridges are you using? OEM Canon? Compatibles? or refilled? Also what kind of photo paper? And does this happen when you print on other papers?

I'm using the original Canon cartridges with Canon's own Photo Paper Plus.

Have tried other papers with no luck. Saw an olderthread on here where someone did a nozzle test which seemed to solve it so will give that a go over the weekend.
