Ive bought some compatible carts but I cannot get them to work. I followed the instructions but when I print it tells me that the magenta and cyan are not installed.

I know you can disable the chip by just going through a few warning messages but the messages dont come up for as its not even seeing the carts.

Is there anyway to manually disable the ink monitor? Ive searched and found instructions to reset the eeprom and that this disables the ink monitor but I havent actually found anyone that has done it.

Can anyone help, im about to loose my mind with this printer.

Can you please be more explicit as to the nature of these compatible carts?. (came with chip/chip to be transferred.?)...in brief , what were the instructions?

I do not recommend playing around with the eeprom for ink related issues.

Most CLI8 users ( I think),favor re-fill of existing Canon carts,............ swopping chips and using compat carts which may not match thedimensions exactly of genuine carts could lead to the kind of problem you are finding.

It may be worth buying a genuine cart to test that the machine can still take a proper cart and work .
