Default Canon Beats Epson for Ink Monitoring

I must say Canon has the best ink monitoring system, much better than Epson. My black cart went bone dry before it needed to be replaced and the printer warnned me in pleanty of time it was going to run out. Gave me time to have a replacement on hand.

On my Canon i850 & i550 the ink level is only reported as low when about 95% of the liquid resevoir is empty and it triggers an optical sensor, the sponge buffer resevoir is still full and allows quite a bit of subsequent printing before totally running out of ink.

Also, here in the UK a consumer magazine is currently testing ink cartridges and Epson seem to be the worst at ink level monitoring, reporting empty cartridges with up to 39% of the ink still remaining!.
