Default Canon i9100 - Max Print Size????

Hi,

I'm looking at a new printer to replace my Epson 1520. Either the Epson 2100 or the Canon i9100.
I've been very impressed by the speed and mac drivers of the Canon printers and want to go down that line, but....
I need to regularly print landscape sized images. About 60 - 100cm (23" - 40") in length. Although the Canon printer doesn't take roll paper, can it print at these lenths?? Can either the Epson or Canon print borderless at these lenghts.....??
Been looking at the reviews but noone seems to have tested these printers with this kind of long paper (basically, A1 epson paper rolls cut to size).
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joao.

The largest size you can set the i9100 to, even with a custom page size, is about 28 inches. The Epson 2100 (known in the US as 2200) can go up to 44-inches.

Thanks for the input!!
28 inches??......
damn...Now I really don't know which one to go for.....

I normally like to print at 33" (A1 length). 28 is not too bad though.
Will it print 28" long borderless, on A3+ width paper? And is 28" the maximum you've tried or the driver limit??
And...... were you able to print without any problems??!!

I would love to have roll paper support on the i9100. Don't see why it doesn't. I'm more inclined to buy the Epson printer, even if they do have lousy drivers and support. I prefer the canon but.... I will probably have issues with it when printing custom size.

I'll have to think about this.....

thanks for the replie though. And pls tell me if printing long sheets with the canon is an easy thing or brain surgery.....

joao.

I went back and looked at my driver for the i9100 and the max dimensions are 3.54 - 16.54 inches wide x 4.72 - 23.39 inches high. The driver will let me set it to print borderless only up to 13x19; not much in the way of custom sizes printing borderless above the 13x19, though.
