Default Problems Printing Borderless Photos on HP 7550

I have an HP 7550 printer and I am trying to print borderless 4x6 prints. The prints I am getting are not borderless and sometimes have as much as a 1/2" border on two sides. What am I doing wrong? I am using HP glossy paper. The camera that took the shots is a Canon G2. I have set the paper size for borderless 4x6, index card 4x6, and 4x6 w/tabs, but I still get the same results.

I plan to purchase a canon i960, but that will not be at least for another month. Your suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
TJ

I can't be sure based on what you have told us, but I suspect that you have cropped the imgae to 4X6. If you leave the picture in the camera's format, it will only be borderless on two sides because it can't make a rectangular peg fit exactly into a square hole...

I hope this helps!

Yes, I have cropped the photos and resized them. What should I be doing? Should I not crop and resize the photos for printing. Please elaborate, if you would.

Oh no, you are doing just fine. Cropping and resizing is necessary to get borderless printing.

I would recheck the sizes and then go into print preview to see what that is showing you. If your sizing is right, it should show up that way in print preview. The fact that you are getting a border on two sides but not the other two tends to indicate that the sizing is not right... If it is, I am a bit mystified!

Best,
