Default EPSON Photo 960 Color Matching - Need help!

I've just purchased the Epson Stylus Photo 960. The quality is amazing, and yet I can't seem to get the color matching quite right. Basically, my worst print had purple color where blue should be.

My setup:
- calibrated Hitachi CM771 monitor
- Adobe PhotoShop 7
- Canon EOS 300D (Rebel Digital)
- PIM II Plugin (Epson)
- ICM profiles for every paper type imaginable (Epson and Pictorico, which I normally use)
- as far as I can tell, everything is configured properly

I sincerely ask any amature photographers with Epson 960 printers, who have experience in successful reliable well-color-matched Epson prints, to please share their knowledge.

Thanks,
Igor

where did you get the profiles from? Perhaps something is wrong with them.

Do you know that you are using the correct setup? The setup _must_ be the same as when the profiles are created.

Are you sure you are waiting long enough for the prints to dry? I usually wait for about 2 days before I create my profile, it takes that long for the colours to stabilize.

Basically the profiles for Epson papers are "canned" profiles provided by Epson (on the printer driver CD). Profiles for Pictorico papers are custom-made by Pictorico.

Would you mind explaining the process you go through to make high-quality print? Maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks,
Igor
