Default Canon i850 help with color

Hi,

I have a canon i850. My wife is using this printer (over 50 pictures a week  )

The canon ink was pretty expensive so I bought ''noname'' ink off ebay for a great price and the result is pretty good.

I'm using epson paper which I think it is the best for quality/price (I did try kodak  , I did try canon but expensive)

Now, I find that the print is having too much white on it. I don't really know how to explain this but on the screen the picture is very beautiful but on the print it is like the picture has no more life...too much white.

Now, should I try to manualy change the setting of the color like putting more black or more intensity?

Please let me know what to do because now I'm a little bit depress because the i850 had a lot of good review but It looks like I'm not able to get the perfect setting/print with it.

THANKS for your time...
