Of course you can answer as many or as few questions that you care to respond to.

If you would; please answer questions in an outlined format so others can easily see "at a glance" and then follow up with any commentary that you care to add.

I look forward to seeing the responses and sure other will to.

Note: anyone interested/knowledgable in dye-sub printers can find the same poll in the dye-sub forum.

You did not allow multiple choices

1)brand & model of printer (s) currently use:
I own /use

2 epsons, a 2200 & c80
1 HP 1120c
1 Lexmark X11
1 Canon

2) how long have you had this/these printer (s)?
The HP & canon must be close to 5 years
2200 * c80, same day they came on the market

3) Do you consider yourself [photographer/graphics artist etc.]:
Me? Photographer, professional.
Wife, traditional artist, professional, lot of computer time is being consumed buy her .

Our studio currently has 4 workstations (ranging from 500mhz to 2ghz) , 1 server and 1 laptop.

4) Do you use your printer for professional purposes? Yes/No

HP-1120c, Yes, prints invoices, PO's, memos and does a good job on short life client proofs which self destruct.

Lexmark X11. Yes, doubles as a copier/fax

Epson c80, yes, creates long lasting borchures, flyers & art cards
Epson 2200, yes, small fine art prints and proofs before sending files to service bureau.

5) From 1-5 (1 being the worst), how do you rate your printer (s):
HP1120c - 5 no problems
Epson c80 - 4 not as fast as epson claimed.
Epson 2200 - 5
Lexmark - 4 gets confused and prints really odd things sometimes.
Canon - 3, when it works it prints well, but has paper feed issues.

6) Are you considering a new printer?:
6a) If so, which brand & model:

Yes, the following printers would allow us to cut out the service bureaus for printing but would introuduce other service & management issues. The cruncher of numbers will determine if we obtain any of them in the 2004 tax year.

Epson 4000
Epson 7600 or 9600

Side question-

7) Which digital camera (s) do you own & use:
Personally only a Nikon 5400. No plans to get anything else for quite a while.

I won't get another HP printer again. I usually don't say stuff like that, but HP's dominance in the printer market and the 'tricks' they use to 'force' you to use their cartridges are unaceptable to me!
Espson is out because the heads aren't user replaceable, all you do is replace the 'tank' (at least as far as I know unless they changed).
Lexmark suppkliues are too expensive.
Guess that leaves Cannon...............
