Default B&W printing

Is there any good ways to print good B&W pictures,?
Is a ink jet, dye sub or maybe the new printers coming out.

epson 2200 uses a calibration technique to make "perfect" B&W-prints. How well it works, i dont know. But that is probably the best alternative.

Otherwise: use only the black ink to get true B&W-pics.

I have the HP 5550 and you can set the properties to only print black and white. I think this is proably true on HP printers that have dual cartridges.

I did read in earler post that the HP 7960 had good B&W prints but had marks on the sides.
I finally got the HP S900 working fairly good here, and the Color prints are looking OK. For as trying to get B&W prints from it even in the HP program it says Grayscale only, the B&W print seems like it is made from the mixture of colors Not the Black ink.
