Default Help needed with Canon PIXMA PRo 9000 MkII

I hoping someone can take the time to give me some advice regarding my Canon PIXMA PRO 9000 MkII...

I not having any luck getting my images to print how they look on my computer screen. Images are coming out noticably darker and I'm losing a ton of detail in the shadows...

Here are my particulars:

- PC running Windows 7
- monitor calibrated with a X-rite Color munki
- post processing with PS Elements 9.0
- color setting set to "always optimize for printing"
- within Elements print dialog box, under "color management" I've selected:
color handling: photoshop manages color
printer profile: Adobe RGB 1998
rendering intent: relative colorimetric

Note: This is the same dialog box that has the warning "did you remember to disable color management in the printer preference dialog"

on the printer end, I'm using Canon inks, Canon photo paper plus glossy II, selecting the correct paper from the pull down menu in the printers print dialog box, using the highest print quality.

I'm at a loss as to how to get my images to print as they appear on my screen.... PLEASE ANY ADVICE IS MORE THAN WELCOME!

Thx
