Default Magicstor microdrive compatibility with HP 7960

I recently bought a magicstor 2.2Gigabyte microdrive for my Sony 828. I took a few pictures, put the microdrive in the printer, and it read the images. I then formatted the drive in the camera (as recommended by the owner's manual). It still works well in the camera, but I now get a "Card Access Error" message from the printer, and it won't read the microdrive. I suspect that the optimized format for the camera is incompatible with the card reader in the printer, but I'm stumped. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to correct it?

My bet is the F828 support FAT-32, unlike the printer which is older and at the time of the design only recognize FAT-16... You can fixed this @ the computer by forcing it to format the MagicStor with FAT-16.

Next time do a delete all from the camera. The recommendation for formatting in camera used to work for older cameras, but with newer cameras designed to support larger than 2G memory this recommendation is no longer applicable... and is an exception, until at least everything else support the larger FAT-32!

I think your right, and was thinking the same thing myself. I'm not sure that I can format through the camera in anything other than FAT32. I may just invest in a separate reader, but will verify that it will read FAT32 first. Thanks for the advice.
