Default R300 Prints

I have had my R300 for a few days and have been satisfied with the printer. Today, I scanned an 8x10 studio photo of my grandkids with my Lexmark X75 printer/scanner. Then, I printed out a 5x7 of the picture. I was blown away. The 5x7 is an exact duplicate of the 8x10 in every detail. Honestly, it looks as good as the studio picture. It is true that the printer does use more than a normal amount of ink and is a tad bit slower to print. But, the results are worth this. If anyone is looking for a great printer then go out and buy the Epson R300. By the way, Best Buy has them.

Default Scanning Pictures

A little off topic, but what are the best settings to scan a photograph at that will take full advantage of a printer (like the R300), but not generate a scanned image that is staggering in size and cripples your PC.

Default Scan settings

I go in and change the color default from 150 dpi to 600 dpi. Any setting larger than this will create to large an image. I have used this setting to print out 8x10s. The resolution is great.
