Default 1270print head replacement

Hi. Does anyone know where I can find my own print head to install? The shop wants 160.00 plus 145.00 labor. Is this something I can do myself? I thought I could save some money. If not I think I should just get a 1280 but I would rather wait for the next gen, models and keep the 1270 for another 18 mos. or so. Thanks for any help.

well the math says your roughly 85% to a 1280 instead of the fix.
options:
1- fix it and your out $300 and a printer that someone has been into. i tend to be leary of that option.
2-buy a 1280 for $359 after the $100 rebate brand new out of the box with the minor enhancements. then see a new one in a year and sell this one.

3- check out what canon has to offer. i own epson but i see reviews from people on this site that love them and individual ink cartridges now

your move.

Default Been there, done that...

ghubbs,
I tried getting my 1270 printhead fixed at
an authorised Epson dealer paying approx what you
were quoted, only to see printing problems show up later.

Go for the 1280 (or 2200) like sjms advised and save the bucks.

Default Thanks!

With the $100.00 rebate on the 1280 and the 2 yrs getting used to this type of printer (my 1270) I will go with the 1280. $449. at Costco.com and they handle the rebate for me
