Default Epson 820 Question & Supplies

Hello folks, I have just picked up a Epson 820 printer and it is super nice for printing photographs...Here goes my questions

1. I don't like glossy picture too much but still like a little bit a shine so they look like real photographs, so I kind of lean towards a semi-gloss paper is there another type of paper in the same class satin or something?

2. Should I use original EPSON ink or is it ok to use refill kits or these generic inks that are around?

3. There is something called Epson proofing media, why is refered to as proofing, is it not good for finished products?

4. What is the difference between the type of finish "M" "E" etc.

5. Finally is there a good resource on the web for epson supplies that is cheap?

I know I asked alot in there but thank in advance for the responses.

I have the same printer and have gotten some very good pictures using other papers.

Check out Kodak and if you find a paper that you like you can contact Kodak directly (go to their website and get their 800 number) and they will give you optimum Epson settings for their products. At the moment that do not have their "One Touch" system available for the 820.
