Well, I made my own tray for my IP5000 by using black poster board and the template from digiguy.

I used a total of 6 layers of posterboard, and cut the alignment holes and CD hole 3 layers deep. I put aluminum foil with the less reflective side up under the alignment holes. I also took a sharpie to touch up and white edges from cutting. It works great! I have to help it into the printer a little after I click ok, but once it grabs it, it's smooth sailing.

Thanks to whoever put http://www.pixma.cjb.net/ together!

Here's a picture of my tray and a printed disc.

I read a few pages and somebody mentioned about asking a friend buying a printer from outside US. I wonder how come we don't buy just a tray why we have to buy a printer. (may be it is impossible to buy just tray alone)

Also, I know there was a picture with actual size of a real tray but I couldn't find it. Please help (there is 57 pages on this thread)

Parts Now just called me this past Monday. The roller assembly is in! They originally told me it would most likely arrive sometime in October. $12 shipped.

I am having no luck printing on my ip5000 from my Macintosh.

I set the destination correctly as far as I can tell, twice.
I was able to print the alignment X and Y on the DVD in service mode.
I ordered a tray.
I installed the European Mac OSX driver.

But when I try to print, although I can choose the CD Tray B paper size, I can't choose the Disk option in the tray menu: it is grayed out. This is true in any application I try.

Has anyone successfully printed from a Mac?

Ramona

Well I just got me a 50 pack of white verbatim CD-Rs AND dvd-r's so now I'm going to have to seriously consider getting the "real hardware". $12... woohoo!
