Anther picture of the CD-R Tray

<5> Indentations used when setting the 8 cm CD-R adapter
<6> 8 cm CD-R

NOTE THE REFLECTOR IN THE CENTER

From what I understand...
The CDR Sensors on the printer will pickup the reflectors and help align the CD-R tray in the printer. (The first set of reflectors)
The center reflector helps identify the presence of a CDR media.

http://www.canon.com.au/products/pri...0_support.aspx

<6> Inner Cover (which functions as the CD-R tray feeder.): Set the CD-R tray on this. Open this to print on the CD-R/DVD-R.
Also, open this when installing/removing the ink tank/print head.

Part #
QM2-1239-000 CDR TRAY BASE UNIT W/cdr

The US Models have
QM2-1241-000 INNER COVER UNIT W/O cdr

BUT
I don't think there is any difference other than the "blocking" piece of plastic.
