Question to owners of one of the Pixma Canon printers:
If you turn it off using the Power button, but leave the power cord plugged, when you turn it back on with the power button, will a Print Head Cleaning process start automatically? Some former models of Canon printers performed a Print Head Cleaning each time they were turned on, is this also the case for the Pixma series?
Thanks,
Herve

A print head cleaning is not initiated when you turn on the printer. The noise you will hear is the print head being uncapped. But, every so often, before you print, it will do a head cleaning automatically if you haven't printed in a while.

Thanks Johathan for the information.
I had also asked the same question to Canon Help Desk, and got their reply after yours:
"Every time you switch on the printer it will do a simple print head cleaning to maintain the good quality printing."

This is kind of puzzling...
