This question is aimed at Steve or anyone that can provide input.

I have noticed that Canon has on the market a variety of the PIXMA photo printers. However, with the exception of the PIXMA printer Steve recently did a review on, I am looking to find out more about the higher end PIXMA models.

I was looking to buy an I960, but with the technology always getting better, I am wondering if I should hold off and consider a PIXMA model. From what I understand, the I960 is discontinued (?) and current inventory is starting to dwindle.

I do not need a wide carriage printer, as I am only looking to print 8x10 and 4x6.

Any opinions/suggestions are appreciated! Any high-end PIXMA owners out there?

I second this. On paper the ip5000 looks like everything I need but I really want to see at least 1 review from a trusted source (i.e. steves-digicams.com) before I make my decision.

Tom's Hardware review is up: http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer...025/index.html

The review's not terribly interesting from our POV, but there are hi-res output from each printer(IP2000, IP4000, IP5000, Epson C66 Photo, R300, HP 7450, 8150, and Lexmark Z816) so you can do a side-by-side comparison.

Do anyone know when Steve's review on the rest of the pixma is coming?

Coolmac,

That's exactly what I am hoping for.

I sincerely hope Steve will be posting some reviews on more of the PIXMA models. Thanks to the previous posts, I was able to get an idea about the printers from the provided links, but Steve's reviews are more thorough, and besides, I value his opinion.

Hello Steve, when are we going to see the test results for the rest of the Pixma Printers? A lot people are ready to make a purchase based on you report. javascript:emoticon('', 'images/emoticons/cool.gif')

I know what you mean. I've been checking this site and photo-i-uk every day (okay, twice a day) for the lasttwo weeks. I don't want to rush him or make him feel pressured, and I'd be nuts to complain about the incredible service he supplies us printer junkies, but yeah, I'm not putting down my cash till Steve gives a thumbs-up.

It's like everyone you know can say they just bought this car and it handles great and they love it, but I'm notgonna put inthe investment of time and moneyuntil my favoritemechanicgets under the hood, run some tests, and takes it for a drive.

Until I get Steve's review, I'm holding off on a printer purchase!
