It sits unopened and returnable. I just read some highly critical comments in the i-Photo forum. Canon tells me there are no problems. Hmm. Someone's got it wrong.

Any of you with any experience with this printer?

I could easily exchange it for an Epson R800 or the Canon 9900.

Any advice appreciated.

Mark

Mark, I read the photo i review on both the R800 and the pixma i 8500. NOT much difference. The RED problem seems to be approachable. I was ( for many years) an Epson fan. However, my last two printers have been Cannon(i 950 latest) Except for the fact that I am a little nutsy, I probably should just keep the i 950. I am TESTING an Olympus p-400.Extremely inexpensive on E bay. BUT it prints 7.65 x 10(not 8x10) Problem??? Probably not. Epson( maybe not the new) suck up ink, and are waaaaay slower than Canon. OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!What to do???.IF u have a chance to see the i-8500 prints I for one would be very interested in your results..Good lick!!! Jim
