I have a Canon 1950 printer that Ihave had for 18 months and I am very happy with it. Previously I had Epson printers but I found that after about a year I was getting lines on pictures and no amount of cleaning would clear them.

I am seriously considering upgrading to a Pixma i8500. Will I get noticeably better prints? It it worth spending the money?

What is the source of your prints? You might enjoy a camera upgrade more.

I use a Canon G5 camera. I don't want to move to a 7 or 8 mp camera as they appear to bring more purple fringing and I can't afford to upgrade to a good D-SLR.
