So I'm rather new to the digital photo printers out but one thing I know for sure is that I'm looking for 20+ years of photo quality and mostentry level++printers don't cut it for me as far as image quality goes.

That said, besides price, are there any downsides to Dye-sub printers for photo-only printing? I'm looking into the Canon 6000D inkjet but am still a bit ambiguous with my thoughts towards inkjet printers and their image longetivity/image quality off the bat. I'm also a little confused as to why a company like Canon wouldn't make dye-sub printers if they're so highly talked about.

Also, for what it's worth, I'm only really looking to do 4x6 prints but 5x7 and 6x8 would be nice

Thanks for any info, happy hollidays.
