No ones replied, so thought I would try to.
Strange both printers are giving no blue symptoms, this points to computer/driver problems, unless you have 'nozzle' problems on both - which does same an odd coincidence.

Trust you tried re-installing the drivers, there are issues with Epson and Service Pack 2 but was resolved by downloading the new drivers from the Epson site, I believe the problems was dark pictures and not 'no blue'.

The easiest way is to try them on another computer, but if the relevant printer drivers are not installed you will have to install them just to try.

I'm sure you would get help if you gave a little more info, operating system and any service pack updates installed for example and also whether there is any blue in the nozzle print test.

:-)Actually I took matters into my own hand and removed the printhead cleaned it with alcohol, reinstalled it ran, a clean nozzle and test page. Guess what , it works fine. I don't know what the problem is with my sons Epson and he doesn't care right now because he uses mine, we are networked. Thankyou for your help. I will take a look at his printer when the wells run dry on mine.

Good show, Yeah I know feeling, panic always sets in at the last moment.
"Oh, well I did try", but is strange you had the fault with two printers, guess it would be better printing at least once or twice a week just to prevent the heads from drying out.

Cheers

Are you using refill inks on both printers?

No, As a matter of fact I am running low on yellow and magenta, so I might as well get black also it is less expensive if you buy in threes. Have you ever used any of the ink refill sucessfully? Any thing to cut down on expenses today. Thanks Greg

Hi, just been reading thru the messages. I have a canon i865. Having problems now printing in black n white (documents). Colour printing is fine. Done many times 'Deep Cleaning' but still no result. Can it be the print head problem? I thought all the colours share the same print head? Can third party inks or refills damage the print head more easily. Thanks.

I don't know about the i865 but the i950s the printhead can be removed, I cleaned it with alcohol let it dry and replaced it. worked fine after that. The facory rep suggested to buy a new printerhead, about $70. This was a cheaper fix,BTW printerheads cannot be returned. Refills are more trouble than they are worth, imo. Greg
