Thanks for reply. Both black inks are with ink. Some friends say the print head is out, need new head. Do all the colours (2 black plus 3 colours) share the same print head or individual print heads. Does using refill inks or third party inks rather than originals damage the print head more easily. Thanks.

There is a picture of the printhead on this page
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_..._i860_pg2.html
The BCI3eBK pigment black head is the long narrow set of nozzles. The BCI6BK dye black nozzles are one of the shorter strips in the other group.

Whether 3rd party inks clog more easily would depend on the quality of the ink. It seems unlikely though that all nozzles would clog at once.

Thanks Paul. Read from elsewhere this guy tried cleaning his clog print head with alcohol and it solved his problem. I'm thinking of trying that too and as last resort, purge the ink. Any comments? Thanks again.

Hi

If you can hold a tissue to the print head and get a good bar of Black ink, but still no print; then the black nozzle is burnt out.
