Default Cannon S900 5x7 prints

I recently purchased a Cannon S230, and am pretty sure about buying the S900 Printer. After doing way too much research, I still have yet to find the S900 capable of printing 5x7 print. I have not seen cannon advertise 5x7 PPP anywhere.

Does anyone know anything about this. Info would be much appreciated!

Thanks

AInt the picture size partly determend by the photo software. Meaning the templete you pick to print from your photo software.

Small problem there. Canon can only do borderless 4x6 and letter size prints. The only inkjet that does borderless 5x7 prints is the epson photo printers.

Default thanks

Gregersonsalvage- thanks, that is what i thought, i just wanted to be 100% sure. It surprises me that Cannon does not offer this feature. Too bad because I hear that the S900 is a heck of a printer.

thanks again

Yeah I like it. But I'm looking at an epson 960 right now. The samples I got sitting here have an incredible clarity to them. I can't wait to test this thing.

You can get a Canon S8xx/S9xxx to print borderless on any size up to letter by fooling the driver (if you have the right printing software):
- select letter size paper
- tick borderless
- in the printing program, e.g. PS or Qimage, ensure that the image is the correct size and is located in the top left hand corner
- load 5 x 7 paper (or whatever size you want)
- print

I use a Canon S900 and have no problem printing both bordered and borderless 5x7's. It's all in the software. The printer will do whatever it is told to do by the software. I use Roxio Photosuite 4 for most of my printing.

interesting trick of tricking the printer to print 5x7. BUt you will also have to use epson paper since they are the only ones who sell 5x7 prints.

I have Adobe Elements which i haven't figured out yet but in Microsoft Pictureit Publishing 2002 after picking a paper you get not only the choice of printing one or several different images a page but either have them fit in side the templete boarders or overlap slightly.

Interesting. I did not realize that. However, I do use Epson paper.
Frequently I will use Epson 8X10 and put more than one image on a sheet. The Roxio software has great capability in this area.
