I was wondering if the 1800 is as good as the 1280 with premium glossy photo paper. I have the Epson 2000P and it does not print premium glossy at all. I also have the Epson 1280 and it does a great printing job but the ink is very expensive and when you run out of one color you have to replace a cartridge that the other colors are still full or 1/2 full. The 1800 has separate ink cartridges so it should be less expensive to use. I print just about everything I do on premium glossy photo paper so I was thinking of purchasing one. The 2200 is perfect for all papers except the premium glossy so it is not for me. I have read some reviews but they just are not like real world every day printing. It would be nice to hear from someone that uses one and knows the real output quality it puts out. My 2000P is only good for 5 X 5 prints on any epson paper except the glossy. Anything larger then 5 X 5 you can see flat spots in the photograph.

If I were you, I would still stick with 1280 and buy the bulk ink system from InkRepublic.com, so that you can separate ink cartridges to 6 rather than 2.

Besides, 1280 is using dye ink, which is cheaper.

For 1280:

For R1800:

I have the R1800 and I can send you printed photos if you want to see them.

The printer is one of the best on the market.

I have it fitted with the Ink System Pro bulk ink system
