Default Epson 785EPX Problems

As a new Digital camera user I'm getting frustrated with my new Epson printer. I've printed out less then 30 pages of pictures so far with this printer and have had to change the color ink cartridge twice. Even when the computer says I still have almost half of the ink cartridge left, I can't seem to solve the poor quality of the prints any other way then by changing the cartridge again. Cleaning the heads doesn't help. This is getting expensive!

change the DPI from 2880 to 1440, you will save alot of ink with only very slight quality drop. Also most Epsons have a setting for Digital Cameras and type of paper. Make sure these are correct. Good also before printing pics run the nozzle test, hardly uses any ink but lets you know if you need to clean heads first.
Hope this helps,
Gary

i have a 785epx and i'm very happy with the way it prints my digital photos. you should have got a yellow piece of paper with the printer manual. this piece of paper has the custom settings for your printer preferences. if you use them you will be impressed with the quality. i use 2880dpi. i feel i can see a difference.
