Default A good upgrade from HP Photosmart 1215

I have an HP Photosmart 1215 that I really like but have been looking at the newer printers out there. I wonder if it would be worth upgrading to one of the six-ink models? Is there that much of a difference? If so, which printer would give significantly better results than my current 1215? I don't really need the card readers in the printer, but I'd still like to get something with great print quality.

Nora

I use the HP5550. It is a 4 ink printer but you can buy a photo cartridge to convert to 6 ink printing. I do occasionally use the photo cartridge but not often.

Hi gibsonpd,

Can you store the photo cartridge while not in use without the ink drying? Do you know how the output might compare to that of the 1215? Do you mean you don't use the photo cartridge often because the quality is good enough without it?

I like the 5550 and the price is definitely attractive.
