The dialog box for choosing papers in the 1800 lists, for the most part, only Epson's Premium papers (Gloss, Semi-gloss, Luster, Quality Ink-jet). I was previously using the Epson 1280 for a number of years and it recently failed. The dialog box on that printer showed a much wider choice of papers such as Photo Quality paper. When I tried to use Epson Photo Quality paper in the 1800 the results were poor despite many different manipulations of the Adobe color management program or the in-printer color controls. The response from Epson was that the chrome inks used in the 1800 work only with Premium papers. Has anyone figured how to get the 1800 (or 800) to print on a greater range of papers? I hate to think that I have to toss out my supply of papers and now purchase Epson's premium papers. Maybe I should turn it the 1800 and get something else.*
