My Epson 1270 has recently exhibited a tendency to print bursts of fine monocolor horizontal lines at various random locations. For a while the lines were blue; now they are red. Since they overlay my printed area, they ruin my prints, of course. I have tried using the cleaning procedure, but it doesn't do much good. Can I get at the nozzle area beneath the cartridge holders and try to clean the nozzles directly? I can't figure out how to do this. Thanks for help.

You might start by looking here for a discussion of the problem :-

My ancient and failing memory suggests it's a known problem with the 1270-1280 printers, often entailing head replacement.
