Default Banner Printing on a Canon S9000

I printed my first banner on my new Canon S9000 today.
It came out great!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know why the printer refuses to print until
you raise the print head thickness lever.

I was using HP inkjet banner paper which is not thick paper at all.

Is there something special about the Canon banner paper?
Is it thicker than most paper?

Also, it seems like I could only set it for 2 sheets (22 inches) max.

I read somewhere that there is a way to get around this so you can
print banners longer than 22 inches.
Does anyone know how this is done.

Thanks

John

John,

The link below may be of some use to you.

There was discussion on various forums last year about whether you could use the banner printing facility on Canon printers to print panoramas.
