Looks like the new ChromaLife100 inks are still dye based and should work fine with the older models, even the IP5000 as long as the tanks aren't different, but they might me.

The new printer can tell if you put the cartridge in the wrong slot which hopefully isn't a chip on the tank.

The design is ugly compared to the IP4000.....wonder what it prints like guess we will wait for steve's review.

Looks like the CLI-8 Carts have a new level detection system. The Japanese BCI-7 were probably the same carts as BCI-6.

I am waiting to see the replacement for the i9900. If it has some of these specs, I will be buying one.
