I've just purchased a Canada/US ip5000

Is the front cover interlocked to prevent printing if the cover is closed

I tried holding in the switch (top LH Side) and it still printed I don't see any other switches operated by the front cover The top cover appears to be interlocked

This switch latches in if pushed all the way in What unlatches it?

What happens if it prints with the door closed - so I know what to expect!

I've now found what unlatches the switch it is when the front cover is in the closed position and it is pushed in to unlatch it.

I'm wondering now if my switch is not making contact with the cover in the closed position as the power light is non-blinking green when thecover is closed

I would think that Canonhave an interlock on the cover to prevent jamming of the paper

Isolved the problem when I inadvertently attempted to print from the sheet feeder with the front cover closed. After a few seconds a fancy window popped up and politely told me to open the front cover.
