Default S820 & Epson matte/semigloss papers?

I recently bought a S820 and want to print family portraits I took with my Kodak DC4800. I have printed on Canon Photo Paper Pro and Photo Paper Plus and gotten outstanding glossy prints. I have also gotten good clear prints on Canon Matte photo paper but the prints are too dull for my taste. I am trying to get prints that have the satin look like ones you get from your average family portrait studio.

Can anyone who has printed with the S820 on Epson matte heavyweight, Colorlife semigloss, or premium semigloss paper tell me how they think those prints look? Also, if you have had success with these Epson papers, could you tell me how you configured the printer?

Thanks,
Don

I know with the colorlife paper someone told me you have to set your canon to the slowest speed setting at the highest quality. As far as matte paper goes it should'nt be a problem.

I don't think that any matte papers look like conventional photographs because "matte" conventional photographs aren't really matte. You need to try "satin" or other similar papers. The one that I use is Ilford Gallerie Classic Pearl with the "film" setting in the Canon driver.

Try the luster paper from epson it will give you the satin feel you are looking for.
