Workflow -
Using photoshop CS2 to process RAW files from my KonikaMinolta A2
Majority of "tweeking" done in Raw viewer
Imported into photoshop
Noise Ninja
Unsharpen Mask
Photokit Capture Sharpener Expert
* Preset crop tool then used to produce required A4 final image
Photokit output sharpener

So here's the problem...
Cannot get the final borderless print (from my Epson R1800) to exactly match my final image (see * above). Additional cropping always takes place.
This is especially galling if I have added a border around the image - this is either cropped out alltogether or no longer appears symmetrical.

What's the secret? Do I crop smaller than A4 then let the printer "expand to fit" - if so what dimensions?
Don't want to "trial and error" test - ink is expensive!

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated

A few days ago Steve posted a review of the R1800. Check out page two. About 3/4 the way down the page is the print driver dialog box with the Page Layout tab selected. You will see a Borderless section greyed out. It will be enabled for borderless prints. It has a slider that controls how much of the picture is used for overspray. In my experience the maximum expansion is way too conservative, you'll get much better results with a lower setting. Note that if you set it two low, the photo may not always print all the way to the edge. It depends on exactly how each sheet gets aligned when it is loaded.

Ken thank you. A case of not seeing the wood for the trees. How did I miss so simple an answer?

I've not tried a print yet - but moving the slider to zero would appear to allow my original A4 crop to be printed in full (judging by the preview).

Thank you for your help.

Edit: Works just fine
