Hi, I swear I searched and found nothing on this... though with the volume of Pixma CD posts it might be in there.

I got my tray, "fixed" my Pixma MP750, loaded "CD-LabelPrint", and it works. YAY!

BUT I find CD-LabelPrint to be a substantially cheesy and limited program. Won't present full range of fonts, won't accept any non-JPEG graphics, design features limited.

I would like to know if anyone has had success printing to a Pixma CD tray from other applications, such as MS Word, PhotoShop, IrfanView, etc.

If so, can you share any secrets? DPI? Absolute pixel boundaries? Template tips for Word or pixel graphics?

Thanks!

Steve

You can use another program to design CD labels and then just convert them to jpg so that they can be printed with CD Label print.

Some use Nero to produce and print cd labels as well as other shareware programs.

Thanks, KnightCrawler! That's so simple I had to look at it a few times to understand. That will work great for any graphics program.

Another little angle: a lot of the printing I do will be fairly simple and primarily text, no edge-to-edge printing but I'd like it sharp. Do you think it would be an option to make up a template in MS Word or other word-processing program that matches the CD format, and then print directly to the "disc tray"?

I will of course try it as soon as I find some printable coasters...

Thanks,

Steve

Nero CoverDesigner is definitly more robust and is pretty wide spread. You can import and export templates which makes it easy to share them.
