I am having a printing problem. The print head hits the DVD and moves it while printing. What am I doing wrong? I have tried with, and without the rollers. I am using the Canon tray.

I have the ip5000 and have no problems at all

I wonder if you are pushing the DVD down flat to the tray bottom and that the tray is being inserted correctly, I can't see any other reason unless the tray isn't being 'seated' in the rollors properly.

Can't see the DVD brand being the cause because they'er usually made to a standard, may well be worth a check. If it does the same with a CD then I suspect it's something to do with tray position under the print head.

Has it been like this from new or is it something that's just happened..? Obviously there's something on the 'high side' thats causing the problem.

You could always try dropping Canon an E-mail I suppose.

When you "drop/rotate" the "chute" that you place the tray in, you should see the main (white) rollers cam up.

Take a look and see if they are doing this.
