I'm not sure about the 4000, but I have the 4200 and here's where mine is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
>Software
>Microsoft
>Windows NT
>CurrentVersion
>Print
>Printers
>Canon iP4200
>PrinterDriverData

"CnmFSI_CDRSWITCH" and the value is set to "1".

If you mod the printer and then install the driver then the reg changes are already made.

The reg files are only needed to enable the cd printer functions in a driver that is already installed.

What software did you download ?

If you have the IP4000 all you need to do:

1. Mod the printer

2. Install the driver { the usa driver works fine, it won't ask anything}

3. remove the plastic piece

4. Done

I bought a UK iP4000, and the US drivers work the same as the UK drivers (ie they both "know" it's OK to enable CD Printing).

Assuming the Mods really work to make a US printer "seem" to be a UK printer, then the CD Print software will automatically recoginize your Pixma as "UK", and just work!

Give it a try!

I'm using the CD LabelPrint software from Canon. I downloaded it directly from the Canon Taiwan site. I don't recall it asking me about where I am. I do recall that it wouldn't install untill I had the printer modded and installed.

Just to say-:
There is with the ip5000 a hidden folder.. to see this click tools in my documentss/ click folder options/click view and then check show hidden files box, open HDD and it's there - BJ printer folder.

What the folder is or what it contains I've not looked.
