Anybody try using the bulk ink for bci-6 in the cli-8 carts ?

Can't imagine it would cause any damage, might need to adjust the settings. Basic reasoning here is that:

A: Some people have a lot of bci-6 bulk ink left

B: bci-6 bulk ink can be bought from the better online stores, only places selling cli-8 bulk ink are places I've never heard of before.

The mangenta, photo black, light cyan, light magenta are different. The other inks are the same. The bci-6 ink will function but the color balance will be off.

err ok bob what printer are you talking about?

The ip4200 has 3 colours and 2 blacks

i am currently running on jr ink jet ink at the moment and printouts seem very nice a little more vivid but apart from that fine.

I need to get some pigmet black though soon

I have a iP4200 and did test prints with the orginal inks and then a duplicate set using BCI-6 refill ink. There was hardly any difference between the two, maybe the magenta was not quite the same but easily adjusted with a bit of fine tuning. If the refill ink prints were seen on their own, they would be perfectly acceptable

I've been wondering about CLI inks too. It's time to change my old printer but I have a lot of BCI-6 bulk ink left. I prefer to refill the cartridges as its so much cheaper. Anyone know where I can get CLI bulk ink, should I decide to go that route?

thanks,

Chris
