He wrote: I mostly do b&w text and color prints from websites, kids homework, etc. What is important to me is speed. This is the main reason I'm considering the i850/

It's great that everyone sings the praises of their own choices but the gentleman is asking for high speed, homework enabled, and the ability to print good to very good photos from websites at a reasonable price. When he does print a photo, he wants it to be "nice". At 22 pages per minute of text, how can anyone not recommend the 850 here for his specific needs?

Regards to all.

Disclosure: I personally own the 950 at this time.

Hmmm with third party inks and cheap refills I would use the epson 980. Which you can get one ebay for about 100 bucks plus shipping. Be warned this printer sounds like a tank but the inks last forever and the photo quality is excellent.

Bigiggy: While I haven't tried the i850, I've been advised by a very professional source, that the S820 is the superior printer, plus it's cheaper! So, while the i850 would probably be the answer, I feel the S820 would be an even better answer, for less bucks and better photo quality, with comparable speed...blessings, Johnny
