Default What kind of printer for a 2mp camera

I just purchased a canon powershot s200. I am a bit confused on what kind of printer I should purchase to print photos. I will probably be printing only 4x6 photos and I want to buy a printer that will be a good match for the capabilities of my camera.(I don't want to purchase a printer that will exceed the capabilities of my camera). Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, I will need this printer for everyday printing tasks(wp files, etc.)

Thanks

Get a dye sub. There is a really good one that does 4x6 prints for 40 cents a print. As compared to inkjets which do them for about a dollar a print.

Here is a link to probably the best one out there. Since you are only doing 4x6 prints this will suit you very well. I've talked to many customers who've had both dye sub and inkjet and they say they like the dye sub better. No printhead clogs, faster print speeds, and better colors.

its on auction and it'll probably go for around 200-249

A dye sub printer won't print text, you need an inkjet if you want to use it for word processing as well.

For a printer that is a good compromise between photo printing and text printing, my recommendation would be either the Canon i850 or the HP 5550. With the HP you need to buy the additional #58 photo cartridge for photo printing and swap cartridges.

My Wife is a realtor and I do a lot of flyer printing for her listings.
My Epson 900 died a few weeks ago and after searching (I call it "analysis paralysis") bought the Canon i950.
I printed a photo from her Canon S200 that she took of our Granddaughter at Disneyworld. It blew us away, especially the Wife. (She will comment on the one flaw in something and never mention the 999 good things.) She thought the picture had fallen out of the package of store prints.
The "Easy-Photo Print" software that comes with the printer is great! Just pick your photo, paper, and print. The "vivid" selection is great for bright, colorful pictures (like Disneyworld). If the software had just a few more options and flexibility like being able to print a 5x7 on half of a letter size sheet, I would hardly ever use Photoshop.
I hear that the Canon i850 does well also, but it is four inks vs six inks. The i950 is $100 more.
