It would be done the same way, once you locate the free end of the ink drain tube.

Not all Epsons have the access hatch, so probably you'd need to drill a hole in the case at the appropriate point.

Thanks for the advice, thought I was on an Ebay shopping trip but this has sorted me out. I will now ensure that I do not upset the wife and follow the additional advice on creating a capture receptacle..

Saved me dosh, cheers.

I might have missed it, but why does the unit have a waste ink tank. I have been using mine for a couple years and I print mainly in Black, with a few color pictures every now and then. But, the volume in the 5 color tanks still goes down, even when printing in Black only? Does the depleation have something to do with this waste ink stuff?

In a Epson Stylus C45 Printer The fault is when power is on both the LED's (Green and Red) starts blinkung alternately and not able to done printings. I have heard that the fault is due to "WASTE INK PAD OVERFLOW" and need to be reset. I dismentaled the printer taken out the pads and washed it by worm water cleanly and dried it thoroughly and refitted in the original position. I also downloaded the "SSC Service utility". I would like to know whether resetting all counters by using SSC service will do the Job ? if the above is correct then kindly instruct step by step guide to reset the waste ink pad for performing the printer in a running condition. I have gone through all the messages posted in this forum and the idea for attaching the extra container for the waste ink is not only briliant but also help the so many readers.I am eagerly waiting for valuable advice hoping that I will not be deprived from that.
Thanks

I really don't know if there's an expiry date in Epson chips -- my printer has been run with CIS from new -- anything's possible, I suppose.

To use the SSC utility: Install it and you'll see the icon in your taskbar.

Left click on the icon and make sure your correct printer model is selected.

Next, right-click on the icon and you'll see the available options pop up.

The one you want is "protection counter" -- marked with a red X on my version.
