When I print my images they do not look as bright as they do on my monitor. I calibrated the monitor and have the printer set up according to instructions. Can anyone explain how to rectify?

Thanks in advance

Are you using the correct ICC/ICM profiles for the type of paper you're using?

Possibly two reasons.

1: Monitors are backlit, so inherently brighter plus the way they display colours is different, so even the most painstaking 'calibration' can still only be an approximation of what you see on the screen.

2: The 2200 uses pigment ink, does it not? (I could be wrong -- haven't had anything to do with them) and pigment inks are not as bright as dyes.

The paper you use can affect brightness as well.

Hi Idle

The 2200 uses ultrachrome ink not sure if that is the same as pigment :?

I do use the epson paper and icc profile when printing. Never thought about the monitors being backlit.

The only thing is there is quite a bit of difference between the printed version and the monitor...

Thanks for the response.
