Default 5X7 printing on 8.5X11 paper with i950

I have never printed a digital pic, but am about to buy a canon i950 printer. Can 5X7 pics be printed 2 per 8.5X11 paper, and can I set up the printer to get the margins around the pics where I want them? The i950 says it supports 5X7 but I can't find anyone that makes 5X7 paper. Seems like it would probably be cheaper to use 8.5X11 anyway if it would work.

Thanks

I print 5x7s all the time on 8x10.5 paper. I use Qimage and its very easy to position the pictures where you want them.

Thanks. I assume it requires Qimage, or some other software to position them?

Canon makes a Photo Paper Plus 5x7 for boderless printing. The i950 driver supports this. The Easy Photo Print software (included with the printer) should also support this as it gives you options for papers based on size. I have not seen this available yet in stores as it just became availalbe in the last 2 months, but you can order it from Canon at http://estore.usa.canon.com/ for $7.99 per pack of 20 sheets.

Epson also sells a glossy photo paper in the 5x7 size.

Or, you can get out your paper cutter and make 2 5.5"x8.5" sheets out of an 8.5x11 and then select 'custom size' under your paper size selection and then choose 5x7 as your print size, works great for me as I don't have the software that allows 2 5x7's per page...I can print on both sides and the images line up exactly...blessings, Johnny

If you are looking for paper you can use the Epson 5x7 paper which is availible in many places.

Default 5x7 Pro coming?

I talked recently to a Canon salesperson who said that Canon "should" be coming out with a 5x7 Photo Paper Pro since its new printers support 5x7 prints. Is there a lot of difference between the Plus Glossy and the Pro?
