Hi all,I just bought a new CIS from Rihac digital solutions for my Epson R310. The problem I am having is that the printer wont recognise the supplied cartridges. I dont know if it's a priinter or Cis issue or both. Sometimes the general error comes up sometimes it says it doesn't recognise the cartridges aand please use original cartridges. I am using a Mac so some of the reset details i've read aren't really applicable.I've reinserted the cartridges a number of times to no new effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,Nic Owens

I would recommend you contact the tech support or sales team for the supplier and try to get some help with the problem but just a few things to try..

1. Try reinserting your regular cartridges into the printer and seeing if they work ok again..

2. Clean the chips on the CIS cartridges and make sure they aren't misaligned
2b. Reinstall the cartridges carefully, checking that they are sitting properly and that the carts aren't riding up, the chips aren't out of alignment, etc.. as best you can.

If that still doesn't work, you may need to consider that you've been sent the wrong kit... I'm not 100% sure but the R310 is probably the equivalent of the R300 so if you've been sent a kit for the R320/330/340 they may be incompatible... I can't be sure that this is the case however as I don't have those printers myself.. Perhaps someone else can confirm or deny..

Whatever happens you really need to contact the tech support and get them to help..

If it continues to fail and you can't contact them, etc... then your last ditch choice may be to either:
- ditch the kit altogether and go for a kit from somewhere like MIS Associates
.... or....
- try getting some replacement chips from somewhere selling compatibles eg: www.9to6.ie ...

I've used both companies and can highly recommend MIS but 9to6 are a little unproven at the moment with a very flakey shopping cart and sporadice communication brown-outs so balance that with very low chip prices...

Hope that helps a bit at least...
